Iskander Family to Open New Foster Agency

Nearly four years after a crash killed two Westlake Village boys their family has launched a foster care agency in their memory.

The Iskanders opened the Mark & Jacob Foster Care Ministry earlier this month and plans to recruit and support families through the process. The accident that took the lives of 11 year old Mark and 8 year old Jacob Iskander garnered state-wide attention largely due to the identity of the woman who was found guilty of hitting them as they walked down Triunfo Canyon Road in Westlake Village back in 2020. Socialite Rebecca Grossman of Hidden Hills was found guilty of two counts of murder and hit-and-run driving in June. She was sentenced to 15 years-to-life in prison.

The boys’ mom, Nancy Iskander, told The Ventura Star this week that her family is focused on doing good in the world and called it the only way to heal.

The new Thousand Oaks-based agency will provide information, training, referral programs, transportation and other resources for children in foster care. The Iskander Family hopes their foundation will help children during difficult times. Those interested in becoming foster families and volunteers with the agency can visit markandjacobfoundation.org.
